Cary was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in suburban Maryland.  She graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania where she studied philosophy and fine art photography.  She explores the media of color and black and white photography with a special focus on location images that incorporate both realistic and romantic aspects.
